I did a lot of research on line to try to figure out why anyone would support this kind of legislature. The argument seems to be ”Gay marriage undermines the value of marriage”. That makes no sense. How does one person’s marriage reflect or define the quality or meaning of someone else’s? I mean, do people opposed to gay marriage also equally oppose marriage between criminals? Mentally challenged people? Celebrities? Are they ok with any “undermining” those types of marriages might do?  You know what it is? CRAZY. And bigotted.

And that’s the real truth – there IS no rational argument against gay marriage. It is biggotry, plain and simple. It is dirty and ugly and anyone who supported any of these propositions should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t care if you’re my friend, my family, or my fan. If you support this, Fuck You. I can’t even be funny about this – it makes me sick.

Prop 8 goes against everything that the United States of American was founded on. This country was supposed to be a haven where people could pursue life liberty and happiness. Everybody. Not just white people, not just straight people.

The up side is that the gays are fucking OVER it now, big time. There have been Prop 8 protests all over the country over the past week. 104 retired military leaders (many of them gays and lesbians) just signed a statement calling for an end to the military’s “don’t ask-don’t tell” policy – pushing to allow gay military personnel to serve openly. It seems that the gay community here in the US is not going to take it anymore. Good.

This last election was a wake up call – a reminder of what America is capable of when we work for change, and that there is still a lot of ugliness that needs changing. Yes we can.

I will say this : this Sarah Palin shit has me pissed off.

The problem with the Palin situation is that she came out of nowhere and is a heartbeat away from being president. That is not the way our electoral system is supposed to work. No voters had any say on her, she wasn’t in any primaries or debates, she wasn’t selected by her party’s delegates. Between his age and skin cancer McCain’s got – literally, this is not a joke - a 1-in-3 chance of dying in the next 7 years. Which means Sarah Palin could get to be president without anyone scrutinizing her the way the country does a presidential candidate. Normally every possible candidate gets worked over by the media and the opposition before they even get their party’s nomination – kneading out all their best and worst points. Palin just gets to waltz past Go with her $200 in hand, and nothing but 2 years as Governor, and 6 years as Mayor in her pocket.

Honestly, I don’t think I’d kill myself if she was our Vice President. I mean, come on – Vice President, Shmice Shmesident. But the thought of her as President scares the crap out me.

I don’t understand why Republicans aren’t more concerned about this. While I think they have very different priorities from me, I certainly don’t consider Republicans stupid. Sarah Palin is not a smart choice as a leader. She has very little experience, she has an infamous temper that is known to cloud her judgement, and she confuses beliefs with facts. Most of the support I am hearing about her has absolutely nothing to do with her actual stances on issues. It’s about what she looks like, or her family. But hey, WHO KNOWS??

And that’s my real point – who the fuck is this person that’s about to be goddamn president of the United States of America?

Anyway Bill comes in and talks to the sweaty, overly made-up ladies and immediately they all start almost f*cking. These women were hitting on him only SLIGHTLY less than he was inviting them all to bone him. According to the NY Daily News, when the ladies asked him if he was going to join them for a spin (which sounds dirty enough) he replied, “Thanks, but I’ve had my exercise for the day already”. WHAT? You nasty, Bill.

Then the women started complaining about Hillary appearing too “programmed”. Again, these women had each just donated $2300 to her campaign. One spinner asked Clinton, “Can’t you loosen her up, Bill?” I can only assume she was stroking his chest hair or her own inner thighs while she asked this.

The women were all wearing giant long-sleeved t-shirts, given to them by the event co-ordinators, “so we wouldn’t look too sexy in front of the President”, said one woman. Given the climate of the room – and knowing Clinton’s limitless standards with women – I think it’s safe to say he probably rubbed his boner on them anyway.

President Bush was talking about the North Korean nuclear tests earlier this week. Apparently our position is that North Korea should face “serious reprocussions” if they continue the tests. That sounds like something my friend Lindsay’s mom would have said when she found Lindsay drunk and passed out on someone’s dick in high school. “Serious Reprocussions”? Come on. North Korea is obviously “acting out”, and needs a lot more structure that it’s currently getting. I mean, President Kim Jong-il has said that North Korea is “open to both dialogue and confrontation.” What?! Uh, in other words, “yeah, we’ll talk to you. We’ll also fucking bomb you. You pick, motherfucker.”

Yeah, I tested the shit out of that nuclear device. High five me, China.

So THOSE guys are getting stern finger shaking. But Iraq – the place with infamously ZERO nuclear warheads – gets a horrible, messy, ongoing war. The press quickly turned the focus to the Iraq war, and Bush started throwing out the idea that if we ended that war and left then “they’ll follow us back here”. He kept saying that – “They’ll follow us back here!” What? Who? The adorable stray dogs of Iraq? Who is they? The people that are desperately trying to get us the fuck out of their country? “They” are more likely to try to attack us here while we’re at war with them. If we stop being at WAR with them, they won’t NEED to come here. They’ll have their own loving forever-home.

Bush also kept saying that it would be foolish to leave Iraq before we “win.” Ok, well, we got Saddam, destroyed the goverment and killed or captured 50,000 insurgents. So…what else do you need? A medal? Is there a golden statue somewhere that we need to capture and bring back to our base? Have we still not beaten Goro? Because, I think we won already. Let’s just consider ourselves winners, and go ahead on home. Right? Yay! We won! Let’s go! Problem solved!

My point is our country is in a very bad way, and we’re more concerned about what’s going on with TomKat’s computer-generated baby. People get overwhelmed by the news so we’ve stopped paying attention to it at all. Or al least stopped doing anything about it.

So should we walk around thinking about this stuff all day? No – I don’t want to wear anyone out, that’s how we got this sheltered and apathetic to begin with. But let’s not completely FORGET about it. And even if you don’t trust the newspaper – pick one up from time to time, and read the front section. Yes, the whole front section (or at least all the headlines.) A real newspaper, too – The NY Post & The Daily News do not count.
Oh, and stop seeing both sides of the issues. What are you, in college? Have an opinion!

And most importantly, if you are someone that people listen to – a trashy celebrity, a hot lady, a charismatic girl’s volleyball coach – give them something to listen to. Today’s media creators are filling people’s heads with shitty media. Let’s get smart, people! We can do it!

You’ve sure got a whole lot of people interested in what you say and do.

So, like, what DO you do? As far as what you’re saying, of course the breakup is on your mind. According to PerezHilton.com you said to Paris’ ex, Niarchos Stavros, “No one can know I got dumped [by Harry Morton] . . You will look like a total stud, and it will drive Paris crazy [if we hang out together]” -then you made out with him all night. That’s hot. Perez also reports that you told some photographers to “fuck off and die”. There’s even a video of it! I understand, though – last time I got dumped I didn’t want anyone taking my picture, either. My mom & dad were all “Come on! It’s Christmas!” and I was like “Fuck off and Die! I didn’t even ask for this toaster oven. No pictures. I LOOK FAT! I’m so alone.”

Um, so that’s what all those 7,937 members, 14,537,692 viewers, and 20,300,000 related sites are reading, writing, and talking about. You know we’re at war, right? Like, a really really stupid war. TONS of people are dying and being horribly wounded – like wounded where you don’t ever get better. This war has the highest number of brain injuries ever reported in a war. All the people with those brain injuries and amputations come home and never live the same life ever again. And what for? Uh…no one seems quite sure about that. We’ve heard it has something to do with terrorism, but with all the bombing and torturing we’re doing it sure seems like we’re giving people a lot more reasons to become terrorists than to stop them. And it’s going on, and on, and on – and here at home we’ve sort of…forgotten about it.

No! No, no, no, no, no – you dumb bitch! This is not about you being Marilyn Monroe! How about you not visit the troops – how about you visit the VA hostpitals? Or the families who have lost children there? How about you invite the media to come with you and go visit the graves of the soldiers who gave their lives for this “cause”? HOW ABOUT YOU USE YOUR VOICE? No one cares about this war beacuse YOU don’t care about it. As sad and stupid as that is, it’s true. The Vietnam War ended because people CARED about it. Because celebrites showed up at ant-war rallies, not perfume promotional tours. Because people like John Lennon and Bob Dylan (the name on your shirt? He was a real person!) inspired people to take a stand and use their voice to make a difference.

Listen, Lindsay – I can tell from the drugs you’ve chosen to abuse that you’re really bored. Well, stop being so BORING and do something worthwhile. Take a chance.
