I didn’t want to link to the actual article because I’m a little embarrassed for her. She meant to praise us, but just did a terrible job of it. I don’t want to sick the internet on her for bad writing.

Maybe she meant “in a bizarro world where women aren’t funny.” Or maybe this was her pitch for a science fiction movie preview.

Haven’t been able to come to a show (poor Midwestern college student blah blah) but from I read on here and see on your videos, you two ladies manage to blow right past smart and funny to brilliant and hilarious.

Hey, I read the (otherwise rave) review over at Glennis’s blog, and I have to ask… are you sure she wasn’t just trying to be facetious? But was ironically not smart or funny enough to pull it off?
I hope that’s what it was.

I think that writer is regretting saying that at the end of her article. She probably wrote it thinking it would sound one way, but came across in another, completely horrible way. I do that sometimes, too.

Big props to Catie for writing a post spot-on enough for two….
But, after reading the actual review on Glennis’s blog…. I do have to add….. Megn Striklan!!! You couldn’t compose sarcastic, ironic prose if you…. um… I dunno… Had SARS, were in a cast…. and maybe it was made of iron..??? ( I ran out of ideas… too much beer…. and you can’t write straight when you are this offended with media irresponsibility…. )
Nuff said… except…. gotta say…. you both look SMOKIN HAWT in the photo…. but that’s just my opinion….

Hi y’all. I’m a critic so I obviously have a different slant on this. In my reading of the review, she’s trying to comment (fairly ineffectively) on the popular stereotype that women aren’t funny. And looking over the review, the positive to negative ratio of what the reviewer says is about 50 to 1. She praises just about everything about you all, down to your fashion sense. And then, in a probably ill-considered move, she tried to be funny or ironic with her last line and you all are hanging her with it. Haven’t you ever done a killer routine and then kind of muffed the last line? It seems like what happened here. This kind of reaction is the kind of thing that makes me pretty bitter as a critic. I’ve heaped praise on all sorts of aspects of a show and then been accosted because I said something less-than-positive about the set or the lighting. Would the only appropriate last line have been “go see these chicks because the sun shines out of their collective ass”?
