I believe in 50.
I’m sure that by now you have all heard about 50 Cent’s pledge to retire from Hip Hop if Kanye West’s album sales beat his. You may have also hear about his recent claims that Kanye’s record label is doctoring sales numbers, making it appear that 50’s record is about 200,000 units behind. Which is so sad.
You may think it was an ill-advised gamble, and maybe 50 should have just kept his mouth shut, or maybe you don’t care at all. But I think we can all agree on one thing: Kanye West is a douchebag. Very talented, great producer, total d-bag. He takes every opportunity he can to brag about what a genius he is, or throw fits and whine publicly about people who don’t like him or his album. Boo hoo. He’s the kind of guy you can’t invite over for dinner, because he’d just say his food at home was better then throw his fork at you and cry. When he was a kid, I bet all the adults hoped he got his ass kicked on the playground. You know, that kid.
So it’s up to all of us now to make sure that this travesty does not continue. Everyone – take to the streets! Go buy 50 Cent’s new album! Kanye West isn’t going anywhere if his album doesn’t beat 50’s, but at least he won’t win. Don’t let Kanye win!

Haven’t heard either new album. 50 Cent is pretty harmless I think. He’s like a big teddy bear. “In the Club” is still probably the best beat I’ve ever heard, if only because it sounds like college. I think 50 himself had very little to do with that album though. It had a very “Weekend at Bernie’s” feel to it, with Dr Dre and Eminem taking him out waterskiing, waving to people, etc.
