YAT - week two

I’m going with Pat Baer’s pick - Year of Awesome Things. A close second was steph’s “A TITTY”, which is hilarious, but I am too stupid to remember what it actually stands for. Thanks for the suggestions you commented and emailed me.

This week my big plan was to head down to Richmond to see the reunion of one of my favorite bands from high school, Inquisition. Mica and I bought tickets months ago - the same day they went on sale & sold out. See? Not quite so lame as you thought! This was going to be a Major Punk Rock Event! But…Mica and I got lazy and poor, and we cancelled at the last minute. This left me in danger of having no Awesome Thing this week!

Just as I was trying to figure out if I had enough time to take a trapeze lesson or learn to fire a gun before rehearsal on Saturday, Glennis called and asked if I wanted to come with her to see Ricky Gervais preview his Madison Square Garden act. I did! It was more than sufficiently Awesome. I’ll be the first to say it - that Gervais kid is gonna be a hit! Most of his act was about disease, sex, and animals - all of my most favorite things! When he announced that he was going to read a list of “Amazing Animal Facts”, Glennis said “Oh! You’re going to love this!” She is a genius, because I did! (If you want to make Glennis happy, tell her about amazing medical facts and aputaions. Me, I go for crazy animal facts. When we travel together and catch an Animal Planet medical show on tv, we are in heaven.)

(Oh, and if you want to make both Glennis AND me happy, you can come see us at Acid Test tonight at 7:30 - Gotham City Improv, 48 West 21st Street 8th Floor, buzzer 13)

Wow, I was there on Saturday, too! I concur regarding animal and facts about them. In FACT, there is nothing that makes me laugh more than a bit where someone is speaking as if they were an animal. Ok, back to tending those ducks.

  2. Patbaer Says:

    YAT!

I went to the show both nights.

    It was rad!

    Louise was there too.

Drop hole, in the bucket, dear Liza…
