Weekend wrap-up

I had a fun, yet exhausting weekend. I did a bunch of shows and spent every night - as my friend Chad put it - “single-girl drunk”. (To clarify, “single-girl drunk” apparently means getting trashed with a handsy lesbian in a bar full of homos and old people, and waking up covered in taco shells and chocolate crumbs. I live the glamourous life.) My decision-making skills were in the zone when I happily gave my actual phone number to some bouncer because he told me “I need it, see, I live in New Jersey”.

My mother was in town, too, so by the light of day I met up with her for a couple of hung-over brunches ( and - tragically - one hung-over dinner.) On the way to one of the brunches, I passed by a big group of deaf teenagers arguing in the subway station. It became really surreal when the situation escalated to a giant silent fist fight. I had no idea how loud fights usually are! Huh. Clearly I did nothing to help this situation, and instead stood by nodding my head and making a mental note to blog about it. I am not a good person.

On the up side, I did NOT lose my wallet or keys (but I did break one in half), and I collected a lot of high fives for a karaoke rendition of “End Of The Road.” I don’t think I said anything TOO awful to anyone, although I do remember Glennis saying “Ok, you are DRUNK” warningly a few times. This was maybe when I badgered a former student into listing the comedy losers she boned and thenĀ viciously mocked her choices (espeically the ones who had turned me down), or maybe when I sloppily stole Glennis’ quesadilla. So I guess I do owe an apology and a quesadilla.
