I am cranky today! So please enjoy my ranting and frustrated fist-shaking.
1) People who ask a question and then start talking as you try to answer. This most often happens with dopey thugs - the same type that honestly think they’re beiong nice when they call you “sweetie” or “hon” - and it drives me bananas! They just keep asking the same question over and over and talking right through your answers. Ex:

Cabbie: “Where you going, Sweetie?”

Me: “44th and Crescent?”

Cabbie: “Where, Hon?”

Me: “44th and–” Cabbie: “44th and Lexington? You going to 44th and Lexington?”

Me: “No, 44th a– ” Cabbie: “44th and Madison? In the city on Madison? Madison, sweetheart?”

Me: “No.”

Cabbie: ” Where is it? I didn’t hear what you said. Where?”

Me: “I’m…going…to…44th…and –” Cabbie “44th and a tree? Do you maybe want me to drive up a tree? I don’t know why you’d want me to do that, but I’m offering, baby. You should tell me where you’re going, unless you want me to guess, but that’s a crazy guess, right? A tree? I’m crazy.”

(beat)

Me: “Let me out of your goddamn cab.”

2) Emails that I’m expected to answer, but which contain no questions. You know, the ones that are all “blah blah, here’s what I think about everything…my life is so totally blah blah blah….I made a turd yesterday! Look at how special I am!” without a single “so, how are you?” or “whatever happened with that TV show you were watching?” Unless you’re going through something really upsetting and just need to vent - which happens to everyone from time to time - don’t be rude. If you want me to care about you & your life, at least PRETEND to care about me or my opinions on Top Model.

3) My own insatiable obsession with cookies. Come on, Skinner! Give it a rest!
